The Cool vs. The Geek
In the end, wouldn't we all like to be cool? Seriously? Say what you want about wanting to be unique and different, deep down I think we all just want to be cool. Though there's a wide range of definition when it comes to "coolness." For what is cool? Is it designer clothing and fantastic hair? Is it long black trenchcoats and black shades? Is it all about how hot your ride is? Is there in fact a universal definition of what it is to be cool? Nah, but there are in fact things that are decidedly "uncool." Usually things that are geeky are uncool. I really hate that. Just because I can quote the entirety of all three Back to the Future movies, does that mean I'm uncool? Well ... yeah, I guess it does. Oh well, maybe one day I'll figure out what it is to be cool, and I will achieve what geeks around the world have desired for generations: coolness factor 5! Obviously I have a ways to go.
So, I've been sent some amusing things this week:
Some people have no shame. No my no my ey indeed.
How sad is it that you can write off your dietary costs if you're obese as a tax break.
Anyone who's ever posted on a forum, or even thought about it, should watch this first.
Closing thoughts: how great are chibi characters? I mean seriously. Aren't they unbearably cute? Look for more geek vs cool guy action next monday!
Welcome to the Comedity. Don't step on the Penguin.
