I lose all Internets

Ok, here's the deal: I'm switching service providers. Well, more specifically my folks are, and so I am switching vicariously. This will ulitmately be for the better, but for right now it is no good at all. For you see, in order to get the new internets, the old ones have to be turned off. Well, not quite like that, but you get the idea. Anyway, the upshot is I won't have internets again until .... Monday... maybe. So... the comic will likely not update monday morning. Perhaps monday evening... perhaps sometime wednesday. It all depends on how long it takes to get this done.

In sudden spur of curiousity, based on what I know of the series of tubes known as the internet, and how ISPs describe setting up their service.... I wonder, would it be possible to get online without an ISP? DSL just piggiebacks on existing phone lines... cable does the same but, you know, thorugh your cable line... and we all know what dial up does. So, would it be possible to get on line, since the architecture is right there withouth shelling out to a company go put you in touch with the web? Would it? Hell if I know. But it is an interesting question.
